Matt was beginning to pull off her shirt as light footsteps sounded on the stairs. Kelly trotted down the stairs with her bookbag to start her homework. Dan had told her that he would be gone most of the evening and there was pizza in the fridge. She didn't know where Trixie was, she rarely saw her. She rounded the corner into the kitchen and saw Matt and Trixie pressed up against each other. She wasn't sure whether to run back upstairs or pretend like nothing had happened. She really was hungry. She just shook her head and disappeared into the kitchen.
Matt groaned when he saw the slim figure dart into the kitchen. He'd forgotten about Kelly. The little minx had been the first at the ranch to befriend him, always tagging along and asking questions. He wasn't sure he wanted to answer any questions about this encounter. He slipped his hands from her shirt, pulling it back down as he did so. "Um, that was embarrassing. Should we talk to her or something?" Matt liked the little girl, but he was clueless when it came to kids.

As Trixie felt him pull her shirt up she became uneasy..... SHe wasn't planning on going all the way, not right now. Trixie saw Kelly as she stepped away from Matt and slowly closed her blue eyes emberassed...... She slowly heard his reply as she son found that he really knew nothing about kids. She slowly pushed him against the wall and replied, [Ugh YAY.] SHe rolled her pretty blue eyes jokingly as she walked into the kitchen..... SHe smiled sweetlyas she sat at the counter top seat on a stool and replied, [Um..... Hey Kelly....] She was being sweet for once to her.... [Um...... Matt and I are dateing so...... Dan knows. No need to go off and tadal about us. We were just um..... well your of the age you know.] Trixie smiled lightly as she looked at Matt and tried not to laugh. Slowly she relized her hair was at crazed and slowly blew it out of her face with her breath and sighed.

Well it you wound up a cowboy, you had to be ready to deal with the consequences, but the appearance of Kelly brought everything to a crashing halt. Matt followed Trixie into the kitchen.
Kelly glanced at Trixie with a little suspicion. The teen hadn't been particularly nice to her before. And when she heard the rest of Trixie's statement, she realized that Trixie was just being nice to make sure Kelly wouldn't get them in trouble. Kelly wasn't a tattler. She hadn't meant to let it slip to Dan the first time. And she didn't want Matt to get in trouble and have to leave. He was teaching her a lot about horses and cattle. And Kelly was an innocent, she had no idea what Trixie was talking about. She just knew grown ups didn't talk about it to her. "I wouldn't tell, even if you shouldn't be doing it. I wouuldn't want to get Matt in trouble. But I have homework to do, should I go back and do it in my room?"

Trixie smiled her sweet beautiul way and replied, [Thanks hun,. No you can do it down here. We were just going to watch a movie and make dinner here. Your welcomed to join.] SHe smild. Shewas returning Kelly's sweetness with real sweet. Trixie smiled lightly as she turned around almost running into Matt no relizing he was behind her as she replied, [Oh. Excuse me cowboy.] SHe smiled flirtatiously and walked to the couch and plumed on it and turned the TV on to CMT.

Kelly nodded and pulled a science book and her notebook out of her bookbag. She had a paper to right on a topic of her choice and she had decided to write about the herd dynamics of wild horses. It was something that Matt had explained to her one day when they'd been watching the ranch horses play. "Dan said there's pizza in the fridge, but if you're going to cook, I'd rather have what you make. I'll help if you need." She had cooked at her house lots of times and cold pizza was not her favorite.
Matt just grinned and stepped out of her way. "I'm with Kelly, what're you gonna cook us?" He gave her a teasing grin.

Trixie rolled her eyes as she stood up. She walked into the kitchen and replied, SHe was tired but pulled a large package with five sirlion steaks. SIghing she opened them and they were still frozen as she placed them in the microwave. Slowly swallowing she leaned against the fridg. SHe was bored and wanted to do something fun.

Matt could see she looked a little less than thrilled with the situation. He walked over and kissed her gently. "You'd better let a man handle those, just point me to the grill. Kelly, why don't you help her whip up some mashed potatoes or something." Matt was just a cowboy, it didn't take much to keep him happy.

Trixie closed her pretty blue eyes as she smiled when he kissed her. She turned around and heard the microwave beep and she took the dethawed steaks and handed them to Matt and replied, [Go out the back door and look to your right, won't miss it.] She smiled at kelley and she walked to the mash potatoes and took five out and asked, [Can you wash these for me?] She smiled sweetly as walked to a shelf and pulled three cans of stringed beans and opened them with an old fashion can opener.

Matt took the plate and rummaged around in the cabinents for a minute before finding the marinate he was looking for. "How do you girls like your steaks?" Kelly looked up from the sink where she was washing the potatoes. "Well done please. I don't like it when you can still see the blood." Matt grinned. "It's no good if you cook all the juices out of it. But I'll make sure yours is good n charred."

Trixie smiled. She slowly replied, [Rare medium. I like pink but not to much.] She smiled at Kelly and watched Matt then began back to work. She puled out Texas toast from the Fridge and set them on the counter and slowly replied, [Um.. Mat make two extra steaks for Dan and Andy. They'll be hungry like always.] She rolled her amazing obtics jokingly as she went back to peeling to the potatoes.

Matt nodded and headed out the back door to get to work on the steaks. He was no chef, but was a decent hand with a grill and soon had the charcoal glowing.
Kelly went to the cuboard and got some ingredients out. "I'll make cookies. Is Andy the cowboy with the pretty paint horse?"

Trixie watched Matt walkout as she was in her own world thinking about Matt as Kelly talked. Trixie turned around snapping out of it, [What? oh yah Andy is Dan's old best friend. Yah.] She turned around and put the potatoes in a bif g pot putting water into it and then placed it on the stove turnnig it on to medium.

Kelly started mixing things in the bowl, eggs, flour, sugar, vanilla, molasses. It was a recipe she had memorized from her mother. "He's cute and I think he's a real rodeo rider. I want to learn how to barrel race and be a rodeo rider too. Or maybe a veterinarian."

Trixie looked at Kelly and laughed, [You think the horse is cute or Andy?] Trixie laughed at the thought of Andy being cute. Now Trixie could only see Matt to being cute and no one else. Kelly obviously didn't know the real Andy. Dan had told Trixie to be careful around him he was quite the redneck partier and practicly rode everything, encluding every girl.

Kelly grinned. "Andy's cute. His horse is gorgeous." Kelly started mixing all of the ingredients together, her arm getting tired as the dough thickened. "Matt's horse is funny, but I think Tex is probably tougher. They're all tough, Matt, Tex, and Rebel."
