A tall cowboy with a black T-Shirt that was tight against his muscular abbs, his very musculat arms, his black cowboy hat, brown Justin boots, and dull silver spurs. He had a large paint gelding following him behind a leadline that was lazy and very sweet. Dan walked to a small little building that had a very large back area with alot of stalls and round pins. He looked around the in the area as the cold breeze blew through the area as the gelding slowly letting each foot hit the pavement hard with each large foot making a steel hitting steel soundfrom his shoes. Dan looked for the vet for he had an oppiontment for Rocky.

Karen was checking over a wide grey mare who was due to foal any day now. The foal was laid wrong and was going to have to be shifted when the mare went into labor. She patted the sleek hide and glanced at her clipboard when she heard a pair of hooves on the concrete. Ah yes. Just a check up for a gelding she'd never seen before. A new client, but she'd heard he was the big bull of the area. Her brown hair was up in a ponytail and fitted jeans hugged her slim frame. A pale blue scrubs top had pockets ladened down with scissors, thermometer, bandages, all sorts of things. She strode up the aisle and again consulted the file. She came to a halt in front of the cowboy and offered her hand. "Hello Mr. Kelley. I'm Dr. Jones and this is Rocky I presume?" She offered her hand for the gelding to smell.

Dan tipped his black cowboy hat in respect and replied with his vocals deeping while he slowly stopped his moving while Rocky stopped almost slidding, [Hello Ma'am. Yup this is Rocky, one of our favorites at the ranch.] He smiled as he turned stepping away so Rocky could smell her hand as the large gelding stretched his neck out and snifffed her hand and his big lips opened and his long soft wet tounge rolled around her hand as he then stopped. It was just a friendly kiss. Dan chuckled deeply as he soon replied [He seems to be favor'n his fback right leg. Just someth'n I noticed lately, might wanna check it.] Steping forward he looked at the grey mare and looked up and down her being the normal cowboy he was making sure she was wel built, a very normal cowboy.

After the inital introductions and pleasantries, Kim turned all of her attentions to the horse. She laughed as the gelding's tongue tickled her plam and patted his neck before moving down to check his leg. She didn't feel any heat or swelling. "Walk him in a circle for me please."

Dan slowly walked Rocky in a large circle then stopped as he stood facing Dr. Jones. Dan sighed deeply stanned bordly as he looked around scanning each animal in the facility. He then looked at the vet only for a second. He notice her hair and her soft orbs that looked over the horse. He wondered a couple questions but stayed quite only thinking what shouldn't be repeated.

Karen's gaze followed that paint's every move. Definitely favoring that leg, but it looked like the hoof, not the leg. When the gelding halted, Karen moved to his side again, feeling his leg and then lifting his hoof. She saw no problem with his hoof. No heat, no abcess. She felt around the fetlock and just above the back of his hoof, found the problem. Hidden in his fetlock and buried in the flesh, was an inch long cactus spine. Karen pulled a pair of tweesers from one of her many pockets and pulled out the offending spine. She held it up for Dan to see. "There's your problem. Keep him quiet for a few days and he'll be fine again."

Dan nodded his head talking her advice knowing it would be hard for Rocky for he loved chasing them cows. He slowly began walking Rocky a little bit then stopped looking at his back leg the whole time seeing it was much better. He nodded his head with his amazing blue orbs hiding under the shadow as he scanned around once more at the surrounding as he he walked a little closer to where Dr.Jones was and replied, [Mighty aploged to you Ma'am.]

Having two paint horses herself, Karen was a fan of the flashy colored horses and was impressed with this gelding. He had clean lines and good ground manners. "My pleasure. I also make house calls for emergencies. Here's my card if you ever need me or just need advice on something." She offered him a business card, cream colored with her clinic's logo. It had her home number as well as her cell number and the clinic's office number. In a small town like this, a vet was really on call 24-7 and had to be easy to get up with.

He tipped his black cowboy hat and took her card scanned it over then slipped it into his pants pocket then turned walking Rocky to the 6 horse trailor with a F-350 Ford black long bed, dully truck. He opened the trailor and and Rocky slowly walked in as he walked to the back of it and Dan hoocked him up and then patted him softly on the neck and walked out shutting the door then walked around the whole trailor seeing and making sure everything was ok then walked over to Dr. Jones. He thought she was married so he replied, [So Mrs. Jones how much do I owe you?] He thought she was married because she was very pretty, it was a small town so it was kinda easy finding your special someone, and also she had a GREAT job and was well on her feet. He reached in his butt pocket and pulled an old leather warn wallet that had about five 100 dollar bills and about ten 20 dollar bills. He had just gone to the bank cause he had to go to Summerlake and buy some supplies for the ranch.

One thing Karen loved about small towns was that gentlemen still exhisted. She'd grown up in a small town, but had gone to college in a big city. She had spent seven years in the city, first for her bachelor's degree and then for vet school. As soon as she had her doctorate in hand, she had started looking for a small town to open a practice in. The vet that had originally owned the clinic she ran now had been ready to retire and had gladly sold the facility to Karen. Her years during college had been spent studying and working, not leaving much time for relationships. She had dated on and off, but never anything serious. She smiled at his mistake, not the first time that it had been made. "It's just miss. $80 for the visit and if you could fill out some quick paperwork, I'll set you up an account. With all those animals at the ranch, I'm sure we'll be seeing you here again."

Dan laughed at his mistake. He made alot but he never got imberassed, he was a cowboy and he had to keep his pride. As she replied he replied right after, [Well I am very sorry Ma'am just surprised.] He took out a 100 dollar bill and handed it to her and smile saying, [Well I aint skilled with the whole paper work but I'll try. Oh and yah I think um well be seeing each other alot. We got over 150 horses and 50,000 head of free range cattle.] He smiled his very charming cowboy way as he heard a loud whinny from Rocky ready to go home and he hollard to him, [Hold on bud!] He smiled and walked to her small office and opened the door for her to go first.

Karen just smiled and shrugged, it wasn't a big deal. She wouldn't mind being married and having kids, but vet school had come first. "Don't worry about it, no big deal." She took the bill, deciding she shouldn't be surprised that someone who owned such a large ranch also had a good deal of money. "It's nothing too strenuous I promise. All those animals must keep you quite busy. My two ponies are enough work by themselves." She headed into the small office and sat down behind the tidy little desk. She opened a drawer and pulled out the forms for new clients. It was only two pages with jst basic information such as name and address. She slid it across the desk and motioned to the cup of pens.

[size=1Dan smiled and replied, [Yah I got some good workers and the horses are always good the only problem is money. And sorry about the whole Mrs. Miss thing. I just yah.] He smiled and grabbed a pen and took the form and filled them out all true as it asked for everything he could write down as he hated writing. Je loved RIDING. His handwriting was all caps and very straight. He looked every now and then he would look up to see what Miss Jones was doing. He smiled lightly under his black hat as he wrote fast and finished and handed it to her replying, [Yay all the bori'n stuff is done.][/size]

Karen suddenly remembered the hundred dollar bill in her pocket. Change. She unlocked the small cash drawer and traded the hundred for a twenty. She smiled at his second apology. "Really Mr. Kelley, it's okay." She glanced at the filled out forms he handed her. She would put the information into the computer database later. It made everything so much easier. She handed him the twenty. "Change. Well thank you and you're all set now. Don't hesitate to call, but I hope the next time I see you it will be for something as minor as a cactus spine."
