Kelly came in from the stable after riding Buzz and helping groom a couple of the other horses. She took a quick shower and put on some clean clothes before grabbing some books from her bookbag and heading downstairs to do her homework at the kitchen table. It's what she always did at home and she'd gotten in the habit of doing that here too. Tonight she just had some math homework, easy stuff. She was pretty advanced for her age and she was kind of bored with what they were teaching her now, but it meant homework took less time and she could spend more time with the horses. Science and English were her favorite subjects, although she thought teachers always picked really stupid stuff to have students read. She preferred to go to the library and choose her own books. Her favorite way to spend an afternoon was to ride out on Buzz and spend the afternoon reading while he grazed.
It took her about half an hour to finish the math worksheet. She put her things back in her room and headed into the living room to watch a little TV before dinner. Animal Planet was her absolute favorite channel. She wanted to do something with horses. Maybe she could be a famous rodeo rider or a breeder or a vet. Emergency Vets was on and she watched as the vets took care of a dog that had been hit by a car, a snake that was having skin trouble, and a cat that had been attacked by a dog. Some of it was very graphic, but Kelly figured that if she ever wanted to be a vet, she would have to be used to seeing hurt animals.

Dan was reading The Open Range, a western cowboy of course. He loked over his shoulder seeing Kelly and his deep southern draw replied with a over powering reply, [Howdy hun.] He then went back to his very interesting book. The TV was off. Dan wasn't much fan for that. HOrses and cattle were his life and now his "kids" you could say and also, um maybe a girlfriend. He lightly looked up seeing her with her homework. Least one of the two were good. Where was Trixie any way. She had been gone for a while and she wasn't even really into horses atleast not yet.
Poor Dan was totaly oblivious with his per say oldest daughter was out with a 23 year old ranch worker. Not good if he found out..... Dan lightly set his book down and replied, [Did you see Trixie?] He had no idea how he was going to react if he real found out. May God bless Matt and maybe um something of his.

Kelly looked up from her last couple of math problems when Dan came in. "Hey Dan." She didn't call him dad because he wasn't her dad, he was more like a really awesome big brother who made sure everything was okay. She finished her homework as she heard Dan's question. She answered without really thinking. "She was out at the barn with Two Wolves when I said bye to Buzz." She had spent lots of time in the barn hanging around Matt, always asking him questions about horses or Indians. At first he had just been kind of taken aback, but now he seemed to really like the little pest. One day under her questioning, he'd told her that his Apache name was Two Wolves.

He watched Kely then leaned forward astonashed and confused knowing not real ones. [Um what?] Was let out in a deep town a little unsure what to think nor say.... Silently he stood up and walked to the barn. The lights were off and he saw no one, not even the ranch workers, not even Trixie. He turned to Kelly and replied again a little more sure about himself, [Whatta you mean by that?]

Kelly was up from her chair now, stacking her notebooks and math book. "Two Wolves. That's Matt's Apache name. He told me how to say it in his native language, but I need to practice, it sounds really weird." She put her things back in her book bag. She paused, knowing she would both of them in trouble if she said she saw them kissing. And even though Trixie seemed not very nice, she didn't want to get Matt in trouble. "They were at Dasiy's stall earlier. Maybe she was sick or something. Matt knows all sorts of natural medicines. His grandfather taught him."

This was wierd...... Dan slowly walked closer to her and replied, [Wait where are they now? the lights are off, and what were they doing when you saw them? Were they together or not even talking?] He was getting little angry and his vocals showed it as stress was begining to grow if he knew what they might really do....... or try or even think about doing, they were both dead.

Kelly really didn't want to get in the middle of this. She swung her bookbag on her shoulders and headed to the stairs. She stopped at the bottom, facing Dan. "I don't know where they are. They were at Daisy's stall talking." It wasn't a lie, just not quite all of the details. And they hadn't been doing anything bad. It hadn't even been one of the bad kisses that her dad had always been watching on TV.

He believed her to the bone. [Well ok.... Maybe I should go out there.] He lightly stood up again looking at the door. He knew what might what is going on right now if he went in the barn if he didn't see Trixie Matt, NORE Daisy and the worse had happened, for Matt. He slowly walked to the door and grabbed his black Carhartt jacket.
(oc/ we should have Kelly try to stop him or something knowing hell be PISSED at Matt when he finds out or something. =) )

Kelly started to head up the stairs and then stopped and turned around. "Don't be mad Dan. If they're...not just talking about Daisy. Kids do stupid things. Matt's a good guy. He's really nice and he helped me when Buzz had a rock stuck in his shoe." She wasn't going to try and stop him, she knew what a futile attempt that would be. Maybe they were just talking about Daisy.

Dan stopped. Then it hit him she saw them not "JUST" talking, that made him more pissed. Throwing his jacket on he stormed out the door slamming it as CInch raised his head then ran through Kelly's legs and bolted up stairs.

Kelly decided that the smartest thing to do might just be to follow Cinch on upstairs. She had a new book and thought spending the evening holed up in her room would be best. She really hoped Matt and Trixie weren't doing something bad. And she really hoped Dan wouldn't get too mad.
