It was a warm friday night and Trixie was off somewhere in town, without Matt.... He hadn't talked to her or even tried so a few of her frends from school, including boys went out and went to the drive in movies.... Kelly was off somewhere and Dan was on the old woodden porch on the swing...... He had a black tshirt tucked into his wrangler jeans with a huge belt buckle. He had a Carhartt het on with the bill curved very sharply as he slowly swung back and forth bordly. He was half asleep but well aware of everything. He was kinda thinknig of Elizabeth but stopped..... He knew she was with Andy. He wasn't mad at Andy cause he had Lizzy but Andy was being a totaly thingy that one day he got hurt........ That day swam in his headlike a confused fish stuck in a glass bowl.

Lizzy had learned a lot about horses in the past couple of weeks, but Sunny was limping and she had no idea. She'd cleaned her hooves just like Andy had shown her, but the palomino was still limping. Andy had told her rocks could get under the mare's shoes, but she had no idea how to fix that. She didn't want to call him and drag him all the way out here so she went to see if Dan could help. He still intimidated her a little. He'd seemed very moody lately and for some reason he and Andy weren't getting a long at the moment. She saw him swinging on the front porch and approached a little nervously. "Um, something's wrong with Sunny and I don't know what to do. I was wondering if you could take a look at her."

With his amazing blue optics closed he heard her vocals close to him and were also directed to him. Opening he looked upon her for a second and nodded. He stood up as he slowly walked off the porch. His boots pounded the old wood as he stepped down the stairs. His belt buckle was pretty big and his Carhartt hat kept his optics in hiding.
Dan slowly walked to the barn Sunny was in as he barley moved his left shoulder. It still hurt like hell but not as bad as it was. He entered the barn as all the horses let their heads out into the aisle way and nickered. Every horse knew him and loved him for he was never mean. Dan kept walked down with his hands in his wranglers and his muscular arms at ease.
He saw Sunny the palomino mare Andy owned and was getting board here free. Dan wouldn't have cared a single bit if Andy asked but Andy just threw her in a stall and did what ever, but Dan didn't care either.... He walked in to the mare's stall as he softly walked to her..... He layed his hands on her neck and softly stroke her and then her head.... He waited for her trust as he softly spoke to her,
[Easy girl, it's all gonna be ok.]
His deep twangy vocals were soft and had a loving tone as the mare soon trusted him. Dan slowly slid his hand down her neck then down her leg she was limping on. Dan picked it up as he grabbed a hoof pick out of back butt pocket. He scraped at the already picked hoof and sighed. He softly placed her foot down and didn't drop it. He turned to Lizzy as he walked out of the stall into the tack room replying,
[She's gotta an abscess. It aint bad at all, since you caught it fast it wont be to bad. I'm just gonna put Copper Tox on it and for about three days you need to put it on her, or until the abscess is gone. She's got tender feet so I'd advise you not to ride until the abscess is healed. It might be healed tomorrow but if not just put Copper Tox on in the early morning and at night. When she gets healed and starts limping agian......]
He walked to Sunny and slid his hand down her neck then to her hoof and started back up pointing to her so called frog that had disappeared,
[You can tell she has an abscess if you can't see the frog real good.... See there's no cut in right here, its suppose to have one.]
He softly opened the bottle as he poured it in her hoof. It was a green liquid that he rubbed around in her hoof that was real watery. He got some of it on his hand was now green. He softly put her hoof down.... He walked around her and picked up each hoof and made sure that was the only one bad hoof. He sighed as he stood straight and patted her on the neck and replied,
[Good girl.]
Dan walked forward as he wiped his hands on an old mechanic red rag as his muscular cowboy arms flexed and he coughed covering his mouth. Just another good manner his daddy taught him. He slowly replied to Lizzy,
[Here... Just put it on her twice a day and make sure it covers her whole hoof and just do that till it's gone. And I still advise you not to ride her, but you can. It just wont heal very fast. You can ride one of the mares I got that is for lessons. I got a black Quarter horse named Shadow. She's real calm and real trained. Loves little kids and real docile.]
He handed her the full bottle of copper tox as he walked down to Shadow's stall. A big pure black Quarter horse mare stood there as her ears came up and Dan opened the stall. She nickered softly as she came to him. The only white was a her white heart on her head. It was a literal heart too. Dan stroked her neck as she layed her head in his hands as he sweetly pet and talked to her.

Dan did little to soothe her unease with his lack of response. And now she knew that wasn't just a cowboy trait. Andy talked plenty. And even Matt seemed to talk when a subject was found to interest him. She just fell into step behind him, silently following him out to the barn and then to Sunny's stall. It hadn't taken Lizzy long to fall in love with the sweet mare. Sunny was patient, a been-there-done-that kinda gal. She had smooth gaits and nothing ever seemed to bother her, even in the beginning when Lizzy had kicked her forward and tugged on the reins at the same time. She'd noticed her limping when she'd brought her in to be fed.
Sunny wasn't a very hard horse to win over. She stood quietly, in more discomfort than real pain. Her ears pricked as Lizzy slipped into the stall, waiting for the sugar cube that Lizzy always had. Lizzy didn't disappoint her. Lizzy stood to the side and watched Dan work intently. She listened as he explained the problem. She was a little disappointed that she wouldn't be able to ride for a couple of days, but she was glad that Sunny was going to be okay. She watched him apply the medication and took it when he handed it to her. "Thank you for looking at her. I won't ride her until she's completely better."
She had just gotten comfortable with Sunny and she wouldn't mind waiting for her to get better to ride again. She was sure Shadow was a nice horse, but she was very big and black. "She looks very nice, but I think I'll just wait for Sunny." It wasn't like riding was a part of her job. She just worked in the stable. All the riding she did was on the trail with Andy.

OOC:: I'm just wondering when they, do something more then friendly?? BIC:: Dan slowly stroked Shadow as he heard her words. Dan just softly pulled out a carrot from his pocket and let Shadow take it out of his hand as he patted her neck that felt her muscular neck. He lightly smiled to her as he turned around and almost ran into Lizzy. He stepped back almost running into Shadow and lightly stumbled. He slowly replied with nervous vocals,
[Oh... I'm Sorry.....]
He stood straighter as he turned and shut the stall door as his muscular arms flexed perfectly as his Carhartt hat almost hit the wall but he pulled away in time as he straightened his 6'3" tall and very strong body. He sighed as he glaned her way.... Slowly he walked past her as his axe callone swept off of him and into her. He slowly walked to a straw bale in front of Shadow's stall and folded his hands. His legs were spreded far apart like every cowboy did and he sighed.
Softly Dan began to reply finaly sorting his thoughts and let his deep southern vocals out to her in a soft almost nervous tone that rung low in the empty barn,
[So hows Andy? Never get to talk to him any more. Either working back home on the ranch or with you.]
Dan really didn't know what to say... The suspense was unbareable and so was the d.amn silence. Dan was not one to be in a silenced relation but it deffintly was this at the moment. He thought a second as he sighed and just looked at the cement and his big a.ss boots that were worn to s.hit.

OOC: Dan is going to have to start it, but she just doesn't feel right with him, I'm thinking of another charrie I might make, all of this just doesn't fit with Lizzy's character, she's shy and cautious with men, she wouldn't just accidently make out with a guy, but they should be friends
BiC: Lizzy jumped back just in time to avoid being hit by Dan. She didn't have particularly impressive reflexes, but she did have excellent survival instincts, and all of them were warning her away from these cowboys that were good looking and charming. Even what she had with Andy was moving slowly. She knew he wanted more, but he was being patient and she enjoyed his tutelage on all things ranch related. Dan's question was a little surprising. "Um, he's doing fine. He's doing a lot of training with the horses at his parent's ranch."
