Cahartt's large stud American Quarter horse head was down low perfectly western pleasure perfect while he slowly walked into the more dangerious part of the woods but Dan had a Rugar 30-06 bolt action rifle strapped to the saddle and was loaded. He never feared anything. Cinch barked playfully when he got bit and ran after them. He was very athletic and very fast and ran past them barking and ran under surprises legs. He was so use to the ranch horses not caring, but she might not like it. Dan saw this and was hoping for the worst.

Surprise settled to an easy walk with the stallion's good example and Karen let her go on a loose rein. Once she settled down Surprise wouldn't go faster without encouragement, though it took little. She was used to Karen's dogs running around and under her, so when the collie darted under her, it didn't bother her in the least. She did trip a little to avoid stepping on him and snorted in irritation. Karen patted her neck and laughed at the bold collie. "My colt would have freaked out. He's not even sure what to think of my dogs." Darby was a smart horse, but he was young and a little spooky.

He smiled at Cinch who was always playfull when he weaved through Carhartt's legs and Dan nodded his head to Karen laughing at Cinch who was going crazy with energy. [He's always like this.] He smiled at Cinch as hetook off in the wods barking and bolting over everyobsticle ready to play.

Karen nodded with a smile, her dogs were pretty high energy too. Shasta had actually calmed down a little lately, growing out of the goofy puppy stage. Which Karen was happy about because Shasta often drove her crazy with her ceaseless running around. "Yeah, my two rarely stop and they feed on each other's energy I think. They rough house all the time." But they'd never gotten into a real fight.

For some reason Dan turned quite.... The sun began to cahgne the sky's color and the cold settled in and the light began to fade as the cowboy and stud kept farther and farther into the deep woods. He wasn't scared. Cinch stayed right side by side to Carhart now k owing it was getting dark and easier to get lost just the way he was trained

Karen was starting to doubt the wisdom of following Dan down the wilder trail. She had no idea where she was an it was getting late. Her own dogs were still running in the bush. They never strayed out of hearing range of the horses so they wouldn't get lost. "Uh Dan, how much further does this trail go?" She had to go to the clinic in the morning and needed at least a couple hours of sleep.
