A pair of riders came loping up to the guest house from the direction of the prairie. One of the riders was mounted on a trim little palomino mare and the other was on a big tri-color paint stallion. The girl on the palomino sat her seat easily, holding the reins in one hand comfortably, belying the fact that she she'd sat on a horse for the first time a little less than a month ago. She wore a long sleeve collared shirt that fit her well and the pale green color accented her eyes well. Dusty brown cowboy boots were pulled on over snug blue jeans and she was wearing a wide smile. The male on the stallion was his usually self, trim and handsome in his cowboy garb. He was hardly paying attention to where his stallion was going, his attention on the figure riding beside him.
They'd spent a lot of time together the past couple of weeks. Andy had helped Lizzy learn the ropes of ranch life and was proud of her new ease around the horses. She was still scared of the bulls and he wasn't surprised with the little exhibition he and Dan had put on that one afternoon. None of the ranch horses had really been good horses to learn on, so the next day, Andy had ridden over ponying the little palomino she was riding now and the seal brown pony he'd first learned how to ride on. He'd spent several afternoons with Lizzy, Tommy, and Kelly, teaching Tommy to ride the little Buckle and Lizzy to ride Sunny. They'd had some nice trail rides, the four of them. Those trail rides had evolved into a couple of afternoon rides with just Lizzy and him. He was proud of himself for not having made a move on her yet. She hadn't told him much about her past, but it was obvious that she didn't have a great opinion of guys. It had actually been fun just spending time with her and getting to know her and Tommy better. That boy might be deaf, but he was smart as a whip.
They'd been having a good time and Andy had surprised himself by not wanting more than their easy friendship, well, atleast not asking for more. They'd had fun doing normal things, like when he'd taken her into town and helped her pick out some appropriate clothes for her new job. Watching her model those jeans had taken some restraint. He bought her and Tommy Stetsons and it was rare to see the boy without his. Tommy and Kelly had grown quite close and were often together playing on their ponies.
So it had seemed to be the next natural progression when he asked if she'd like be his girl this afternoon when they'd stopped beside the river. She'd smiled shyly and it had ended in a kiss that suggested none of her usual shyness. So when the pair loped into the yard, they were both in high spirits.

The ranch horses were exelent and all way trained and beginners were perfect for these horses but advanced did better. Dan trained almost every single one a certain way and the best ranch horses in the Nation. Dan made a business sealing the steers, bulls, and ranch horses. Each horse knew everythingneed to know and more. They were great beginner horses, Look at Daisy and Trixie.
It was about 8:00 pm and Dan was in the summer night with the sun barley up and the sunset was beautiful. Dan's shoulder was better but not perfectly healed. He had his shirt off and was sweating. A huge Ford Flat bed was pile with a tone and a half of hay for the rnach horses. It was expensive very green timothy/ alfalfa hay. Dan picked a blae up and threw it on the pile and stacked Trixie was stacking. For a the small girl she was she was strong. Dan had the harder job of course as he jumped down and stacked and she pushed them oof the tuck now.
Dan looked up hearing two horses making sure it wasn't any of his out or something like that. He saw Andy and Elizabeth... He rolled his amazing blue optics as Trixie stopped and looked to where he did and sighed she then rolled another bail. Dan was busy watching them for a second as the bale came down. Trixie replied,
[Dan!]
The bale came down as he looked up and it colided into him knocking him down. The bales were only 200 pounds. Trixie jumped down from the truck as she ran to him. Dan slowly stood and shook the hay off as he replied,
[I'm fine...]
His vocals were sounding more and more dwangy like a redneck as Trixie had an uneasy face. She knew Dan kinda liked this new girl named Elizabeth, and she knew Andy did too. She sighed as she climbed up the truck and Dan picked his black hat and dusted it off.

The two horses were pulled up in front of the guest house and two forms slid from the saddle. Lizzy was smiling as she loosely held Sunny's reins. She loved the gentle mare who never seemed to lose patience no matter how many times Lizzy got it wrong. And Andy had given her the mare to use as long as she was here. Which was looking like it might be a lot longer than she had originally planned. At first, Andy had just been a lifeline, teaching her the ropes of this strange new world, but the more time she spent with him, the more she noticed his well muscled arms and cute eyes. He had an undeniable charm that she had stopped trying to resist.
The led their horses back to the barn. Andy would ride Mick home, but Sunny needed to be groomed and turned out in the paddock. Together, they made quick work of it. "That was fun Cowboy, but I have a little boy waiting on dinner." Andy watched Sunny trot off to join the other turned out horses. He turned his attention back to Lizzy and grinned. "Yeah it was. Let's do it again tomorrow." She nodded and allowed herself to be swept against him for a goodbye kiss that quickly increased in intensity. When she was finally release, gasping for breath, she turned and headed back to the house, glancing over her shoulder and impishly smiling.
Andy couldn't help but smile back. He was a lucky b.astard. He wasn't sure where he saw this going, but he had something special there. He patted Mick and swung back up on the big paint.

Dan threw a bale up into the rest in a neat straight manner as it was perfect for the ranch. They were eaisly stacked and they were easy to pull down to feed the horses and cattle. Dan looked around a second as Trixie slowly watched Andy and this Lizzy girl who was the reason Dan wasn't haveing the best time these weeks, so Trixie didn't like either of Andy or Lizzy much.
Dan wiped his forehead as he threw another bale up that was over 200 pounds and the muscles on his arms were very large and his stomach was perfectly formed with the abbs and no fat. He had a nasty bruise stil from the bronc as he stopped androled it making sure it wasn't all to bad yet. He didn't want to throw it permanitly, yet.
Trixie saw Andy ready just to leave and she got the guts and replied,
[What your not talking to Dan any more? I thought cowboys had a pair and faced their problems, guess I was wrong.]
She had a smart a.ss face as she glared at him with her messily pulled up blond hair in a pony tail and her amazing blue optics and her pretty little face. Dan didn't hear this, he was to busy being sucked in from the anger he had inside... He was just to nice or modest, obviously Lizzy wanted to get her heart broken by a self centered, immature, so caled cowboy.

It hadn't taken Andy long to figure out why Dan had been so ticked at him that day. And the realization had only made him madder. Dan hadn't put his brand on her, in fact, he'd told Andy the field was open. He probably would have backed away to begin with if he'd realized what had caused Dan to act liked a bear that had just waddled out of hibernation cantakerous as all get out. But now he was in too deep. He wanted to make Dan mad and he liked Lizzy. She was cute and she had guts and an adorable little boy. He was about to heel Mick towards his parents' ranch when he heard Trixie behind him. He backed the paint a couple of paces. "You just keep yourself busy with your cowboy. I don't have a problem, Dan does. And if he wants to talk, by all means, I'll chat."

Andy had gotten on her last nerve. He trated women like a dog and he always told her what to do and he was p.issing her off badly.... She suddenly replied not letting him get away with him telling her to keep busy with Matt,
[F.uck you, Andy your just a d.ick, me and MATT are no one elses business and how dare you tell me what to do!]
Andy had pushed her last button and she jumped down from the truck and walked up to him like she was ready for a fight.... She didn't care if he was a guy or not, even though he was acting like a p.ussy.
Dan heard his sweet niece tell some f.uck you and he looked up and saw her jump down as he threw the bale and looked arund the corner of the truck. He saw Andy and her walking at him. He rolled his amazing optics as he slowly scratched his head as he took a step forward with the Justin boots on his foot crunched on the gravel and he slowly made hi way to where they were.

It seemed that he couldn't do anything without having someone angry at him. He was fed up with it and didn't have the energy for another big argument. He had been quite excited by Lizzy's agreement to be 'his girl' although the ever cautious little minx had said it was on a trial basis. Which was one of the things he found so cute about her. Trixie was not looking cute at the moment, she was looking decidedly angry. "And what gives you the right to prance over and jump down my throat about something that's none of your concern?"

Trixie was cutoff by Dan walking up and replied,
[Trixie, what are you doing? Come on let the man leave.]
Trixie glared at Andy as she walked away and climbed up the truck and sat on the hay on the other side with her back facing them... Andy sure seemed he owned this ranch tooo. He placed his horse in Dan's field with his horses when Dan was feed Sunny. Dan wouldn't care if ANdy just asked, but he never did. Dan looked up at ANdy and just turned around and walked real slow to where the bales were.

It was useless to argue with Dan. Andy knew this from long experience. The guy had a skull as thick as the bulls he rode. Andy could be a little wild and crazy, but he was being straight with Lizzy, and he didn't see how he was to blamed for any of this. He simply turned Mick around and urged him into an easy jog. He wasn't sure what to do. The next round of big rodeos was approaching anyway. He didn't want to leave Lizzy, but he hadn't fallen hard enough to give up his rodeo life.

(ooc. Wut you wanna do now? um........ like when r we gonna have Liz fall for Dan? ? -thinking-) Dan slowly picked a bale up as he looked up and watched Andy leave as emotions swam through his heart as it twisted and churned with pain like the painin his shoulder. Meanwhile Trixie looked around the word fr a second for Matt and wondered where he was.......
